Facebook-owned WhatsApp has finally rolled out the WhatsApp Pay UPI solution for its Indian users.
How to Enable WhatsApp Pay: All Steps
You need to have the latest version of WhatsApp (WhatsApp new version )
It is currently available for selected users.

Open WhatsApp application on your smartphone
- Click on three dots on the top right corner.
- Choose Payments option
- Choose to add a new payment method
- Select Accept and Continue
- Now set up WhatsApp Pay using your bank information. You need to have your bank account registered on UPI to continue.
- Give permission to WhatsApp for verifying your registered phone number.
The number should be the same as your WhatsApp number.{alertInfo}
- After successful verification, you are done setting up WhatsApp Pay. Your bank account details would show up in the Payments section.
How to Accept and Receive Money on WhatsApp
Choose your desired contact to which you want to send or receive money.
In the conversions window, select the clip icon.
Choose Payment
Enter the amount you want to send (You can also add a note).
Enter your confidential UPI PIN and proceed.
You would see a confirmation message acknowledging your payment action.
WhatsApp Pay is going to compete with the likes of Google Pay, PayTM, and PhonePe in India. The complete roll-out of this service would take some time. So don't panic if you are unable to find this option on your smartphone.
