Gaming on devices has been a perfect time pass for many of us. We all love to play games whether it be in desktop or mobile. The aura of these virtual games leaves a powerful impact on our devices. Now with help of Cloud Gaming we are able to achieve gaming on every device which was earlier not compatible.


What is Cloud Gaming?

Cloud Gaming or Game Streaming Service is a method by which we can play games on any device with the help of internet. That Game might not be compatible  with your device. Still you will be able to play it without any errors. 

You should have a very fast internet connection (probably 15-25 Mbps) for smooth gameplay. 

Popular Game streaming

1. PlayStation Now
PS Now

It is a service offered by Sony for online Game Streaming. It is currently available for PS4 and PC. PS Now offers unlimited access to a growing library of 750 and more games from PS4, PS3 and PS2. PS Now also includes some of the exclusives like God of War and Uncharted. It is a subscription paid service.

Requirements for PS Now

Minimum
1. Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
2. Core i3 2.0 GHz
3. 300 MB of available storage
4. 2 GB of RAM
5. Sound card and USB port

Recommended
1. Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
2. 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster.
3. 300 MB or more of available storage.
4. 2 GB or more of RAM
5. Sound Card and USB port

PS Now is currently available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherland, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Finland and Sweden. It will be available in more countries soon.

2. GeForce Now


GeForce Now


This is a game streaming service by Nvidia available on Shield, Windows and Mac OS. It is currently available in beta. It currently supports over 400 games including Fortnite, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) and other top games.
You don't need to install game to play. Data is automatically stored in Nvidia Servers.

Requirements for GeForce Now

Mac


  • Mac OS version should be 10.10 or newer.
  • GeForce Now requires at least 15 Mbps for 720p at 60fps and 25 Mbps for 60fps. You'll need to use a hardwired Ethernet connection or 5GHz wireless router.
  • Most built-in or USB keyboard work fine. A USB gaming mouse is recommended for PC and Mac.
  • Particular versions of Macs are compatible with GeForce Now. You can check your Mac compatibility from Nvidia .

Windows

  • A 64 bit version of Windows 7 or newer is required. 32 bit versions of Windows are not supported.
  • GeForce Now requires at least 15 Mbps for 720p at 60fps and 25 Mbps for 60fps. You'll need to use a hardwired Ethernet connection or 5GHz wireless router.
  • Most built-in or USB keyboard work fine. A USB gaming mouse is recommended for PC and Mac.
  • Dual core X86 CPU with 2.0GHz or faster.
  • 4 GB of system memory
  • GPU that at least supports DirectX9
    • Nvidia GeForce 600 series or newer 
    • AMD Radeon HD 3000 or newer
    • Intel HD Graphics 2000 series or newer

3. JUMP

Jump Gaming provides video games via an on-demand service as well as give information, reviews and recommendations for video games. It is available for free trial of 14 days and costs only $4.99/month. It lets you play 100+ Indie Games with unlimited access. It does not require a very fast connection; most of the games load in under 60 seconds on a 15 Mbps connection.

Jump is currently available on PC, Mac and Linux and supports Rift and Vive VR devices.

4. VORTEX

Vortex is a multi-platform gaming service. It works on almost all platforms- Android, Windows, macOS and even on Google Chrome. You will be able to play supported games from the library. Do note that you need to buy some games on Steam to run on Vortex. Popular games include Fornite, Witcher 3, CS GO, GTA V, League Of Legends and Dota 2. Vortex costs $9.99 per month.

 5. Gloud Games




Gloud Games is a new addition in this list. A China game streaming service, it is literally one way in which you actually play games on your phone and tablet. You need to install Gloud Games app from Play Store. It allows a free trial of 20 min for every day. Though it is unstable (maybe because this in developing stage) yet you will be able to play popular Games like Mafia 3, Devil May Cry, Witcher 3,etc. Currently Gloud Games is supported by Ads. You can also buy VIP and SVIP packs if you want to play your favourite game for a longer duration.

Popular Game Streaming Projects

1. Project xCloud

Project xCloud



It is a Microsoft Game streaming project with public trials coming in late 2019. It will enable users of PC, Consoles and mobile to play their popular games. Microsoft says that this service will help them connect to a community of 2 billon+ gamers. Microsoft owns Xbox so it will be interesting to see how Microsoft will implement those games into game streaming services. 


2. Project Stadia

Not much is known about Google Stadia at the time of writing this post. Google Stadia will be available in the US, UK, Canada and most countries of Europe by the end of 2019. It will certainly launch in India in 2021. 

Conclusion

Hence companies are now investing on game streaming to drive their growth. It will eventually take time to develop the infrastructure required for this service. 5G will be crucial for the success of Cloud Gaming. So get ready for an exciting future of gaming.😎😉
